Vaginoplasty

WHAT IS VAGINOPLASTY?

Vaginoplasty is a surgery to narrow the vagina and at the same time restore its distorted shape.

Who gets Vaginoplasty?

Vagina is an organ that can stretch both transversely and longitudinally due to its structure. It is possible to have a wide vagina just structurally. However, most of the time, the reason for this enlargement is normal labor and delivery. Sometimes, frequent sexual intercourse or pain before a cesarean section and the baby's head descending may also cause this enlargement. This enlargement may cause problems such as dissatisfaction in the sexual intercourse of couples and gas leakage in women.

How is vaginoplasty done?

Two types of techniques are applied in our clinic. These are determined according to the patient's vaginal width and the complaint. The first is the repair performed layer by layer by removing a triangular piece from the posterior wall of the vagina (colporaphy posterior) and then weaving it. The other method is to reduce the upper and lower expansion by removing a rectangular piece from the side walls.
